Testing Asda makeup!💋

Hey guys welcome back, I saw Ellie over at thediaryofellie do this post on her page and I’ve wanted to try the new asda makeup for a while so I thought I’d do a post too. Make sure you check out Ellie’s post too it’s really good.

I only picked up three items, I tried the tester on the back of my hand of the foundations but they didn’t look that good (in my opinion) so I didn’t pick one of those up.

The first thing that took my attention was this mascara, I thought it looked like a dupe of my all time favourite mascara Maybelline lash sensational. I’ve lost the receipt but I think it was £4.00 which is pretty decent for a mascara. No automatic alt text available.

The packaging reminded me of the Maybelline mascara, However the wand is very flimsy and feels like it’s going to break. I was going to do a before and after photo of the mascara on my lashes but I couldn’t take a decent photo of my eyes without it looking creepy. The mascara for the price isn’t bad it’s very lengthening and gives your lashes a more natural look. I would give this mascara a 4/5 for a supermarket brand it’s really good.

The next product is a brow pomade or a ‘brow cream’ as it says on the packaging, which looks like a dupe to the L’oreal Paris paradise brow pomade. I believe this was on offer for £3.50 which is a good saving of nearly £6.50 as the L’oreal one is £9.99.

I got this one in the shade light, it’s pretty similar to the L’oreal one just a bit smaller and less shiny on the packaging. It comes with a brush in the top and the product in the bottom. I have drawn three different thicknesses on my hand to show you the product, I’m not showing it on my brows as I’m not very good at filling in my brows.

I would rate this product a good 4/5 I think it’s just the right colour for me and it can easily be built up, I love the packaging and it’s small enough to take in your makeup bag when going travelling.

The last product I picked up was this loose eyeshadow pigment, this was £2.50 I believe, this is in the shade ‘Mermaid’ I love the shade name I think it goes just right.

I’ve done a few swatches for you, the first photo is just one dab in the pot and blended out with and without flash and the second photos are a couple of dabs in the pot with and without flash.

I love this shade! I think it’s gorgeous, I was torn between this shade and I beautiful purple pigment but I decided on this blue. I will rate this a 4/5. I don’t like how messy it is, obviously because it’s a lose pigment it’s going to be messy but it got everywhere when I was trying to blend it a little, but for the price it’s not a bad eyeshadow.

Overall I’d rate asda/George’ makeup 8/10 it’s not bad for a supermarket brand, there’s a variety of different products a few different colour choices, they are decent prices and a good value for money. If your’e in asda go and check out their makeup range.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, if you’d like me to try out any other brands or supermarkets lets me know in the comments.

thanks for reading! Until next time…Soph!
